Anna Friel Gets Topless for Vanity Fair

Actress Anna Friel, of the recently cancelled Pushing Daisies and the box office bomb Land of the Lost, has posed topless for the latest issue of the U.K.’s Vanity Fair. The married mother of one looks stunning in an array of vintage-looking dresses. Here’s hoping the pics provide a career boost. [Huffington Post]

Woman Too Sexy for Prison Guard Job

A 22-year-old British woman has claimed she was forced out of her job because she was too attractive. Amitjo Kajla says she was pushed out of her job because she wore make-up and altered her uniform, making it more figure hugging. The prison claims she was putting herself in danger and risked being assaulted by an inmate. Ms. Kajla worked at a prior jail without encountering any problems. [The Sun]

Steven Soderbergh is Sad

Just how sad is award-winning director Steven Soderbergh? He’s so sad he’s taking a break from film after Moneyball fell through at Sony (read: he got his ass kicked off the project by studio head Amy Pascal) and directing a play for Cate Blanchett’s theater company in Sydney. He’s so sad he’s saying he thinks he might only have a few films left in him. He’s so sad he’s even saying he can “see the end” of his career. He’s so sad he’s implying he wishes he’d never even made Che. Wow. One movie gets its plug pulled and the man is despondent as hell. Somebody get this man an upper, stat! [Slash Film]

Iron Man 2: Biggest Green Screen Ever

A video of the Iron Man 2 shoot has leaked showing the behind-the-scenes production of the climax of the film. Director Jon Favreau has apparently built the biggest green screen ever – the man is putting James Cameron to shame (well, we’ll see about that when we get a look at Avatar). The green screen literally takes up Sepulveda Dam in Los Angeles. This thing is f-in’ huge. Whatever Favreau has up his sleeve for Iron Man 2, it’s big enough that people from the freeway could see it. Yeah, that big. [Collider]

Courtney Love Banned From Using Hole

Former Hole leading lady Courtney Love has been forbidden from releasing music under the band's name, after signing a contract when it split in 2002. The singer recently revealed she planned to release a new solo album using the name of the group she formed back in 1989. The news came as a shock to ex-bandmate Melissa Auf der Maur, who insisted she knew nothing about a reunion, and co-founder Eric Erlandson is similarly in the dark. Guitarist Erlandson insists a contract Love signed with him in 2002 bans her from using the name Hole for any future ventures unless he's involved. Ha! [SF Gate]

Michael Jackson Sells 1.1 Million Albums In One Week

Based on numbers from Nielsen SoundScan, Michael Jackson's catalog of solo albums sold nearly 1.1 million copies in the U.S. in the tracking week that ended at the close of business on Sunday. That's a jump of 37% stacked next to the previous week, when his combined albums sold just shy of 800,000. In just the past two and a half weeks, American consumers have purchased more than 2.3 million Jackson albums. [MTV]

China Ready to Stop Using Electro Shock Treatment for People Who Like the Internet Too Much

China's Health Ministry has ordered a hospital to stop using electric shock therapy to cure youths of Internet addiction, saying there was no scientific evidence it worked. Linyi Mental Health Hospital in eastern Shandong province used the treatment as part of a four-month program that has so far "treated" nearly 3,000 youths, the China Youth Daily newspaper has reported, citing the psychiatrist who runs it, Yang Yongxin.
