B Lloyd isn't just a wide receiver with the Denver Broncos. He's also a rising star in hip hop, and we've got a free download of one of his tracks for all the Blue Mountain State fans out there.
You may remember "Heavy" from Radon Randell's auspicious introduction to his teammates. Here it is again, in case you missed it:
B Lloyd's story reads like the American dream. By the time Brandon Lloyd reached kindergarten he knew he wanted to be in the NFL. A fourth round draft pick for the 49ers in 2003, Lloyd recently found his football home in Denver. And while becoming a pro athlete would be enough for most people, Lloyd isn't satisfied.
Lloyd fell in love with hip hop the first time he heard "Nightmare on My Street" by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, and knew he would one day make music of his own. Being a pro athete and professional musician may sound impossible. Lloyd has heard it before.
"I once got sent to the principal's office for saying I wanted to be a professional football player in class when the teacher asked us all what we wanted to be when we grew up", Brandon recalls. "The teacher said it was an 'unrealistic goal'. My mom and dad told me I could do anything I wanted. Just give it 100% and I can attain it."
