Comic-Con 09: Live Blog from Jonah Hex

bynathanbloch   July 24, 2009 at 2:47PM  |  Views:  |  Comment

Megan Fox and director Jimmy Hayward show a clip cut exclusively for Comic-Con.

The trailer is, in a word, excellent. Josh Brolin plays Jonah Hex, and in the trailer he proves adept at killing, maiming, and blowing up people.

Then a producer (Fassbender, I believe) walks onstage, followed by Megan Fox (cheering from the audience) and Josh Brolin.

Brolin says of Jonah Hex, "He's a great anti-hero. It goes back to the spaghetti western."

Brolin asks the audience if they like the teaser, and the crowd screams. He asks if they'll see the movie, cheers again.

Fox explains that she's Brolin's love interest, that Jonah Hex pushes her away because everyone in his life dies.

Brolin, in response to what was toughest about making the movie, says, "New Orleans. New Orleans is f***ing tough, man."

He continues, "It looks pretty amazing, but we had less than half of a huge budget to do this. The actors who did it, it was truly for the love of insanity. There's a circus element of this movie. I truly think it's a unique experience, for us first, and for the movie goers who go to see it."

When asked whether she likes Jennifer's Body or Hex better, Fox says, "I"ve never been as excited to see myself in something as this. Jennifer's Body is equally as awesome, but I'm really excited about this."

An audience member asks Fox if she'd be interested in a celebrity sex tape, and the audience boos him down. Brolin says, "I'd love to see what that guy looks like in 30 minutes."

Bob Stencil asks Fox if she can act attracted to a badly-scarred Brolin. Fox says that yes, she could.

When asked what stories from Hex the director drew for his inspiration, Hayward says, "We kind of went to the whole body of stuff and pulled elements from it."

This movie is definitely one to keep an eye on.
