Complete Schedule of Olympic Events for Google Cal, iCal, and Mozilla Sunbird

February 13, 2010

I hope everyone enjoyed last night’s Opening Ceremony for the 2010 Winter Olympics as much as I did! I couldn’t have possibly imagined a more remarkable introduction to these games. My hat is off to David Atkins and his team for creating one of the most visually stunning events I have ever seen. That was truly a proud moment for Canada and for the world.

In case you didn’t catch k.d. Lang’s incredible performance of one of my all time favorite songs, Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” I’ve included an image from it below which you can click to view the video on NBC’s official website. Just a heads up: the clip requires the latest version of Microsoft’s Silverlight, so you may want to test your browser by clicking here first to see if you need to update. It looks like NBC will be using this framework to deliver Olympic content so, even if you don’t want to check out the video, you may want to head on over there anyway.

To see some more great clips from the opening ceremony, I’d highly recommend heading over to mahalo.com. The folks there have done an incredible job of compiling a great list including some photos and videos.

I can’t tell you how pumped I am to start watching the world’s best athletes begin to compete today. There is nothing more inspirational than seeing the courage displayed by these extraordinarily talented men and women. I’ve included a collection of icons depicting each event below courtesy of Rhiannon Coppin from The Vancouver Sun. Click any image you'd like to be taken to a page where you can download a schedule of that event’s rounds and medal ceremonies in Google Calendar, iCal, and Mozilla Sunbird's .ics format.

Hope this finds you feeling healthy!
