Fans of the Green Lantern won’t have to confine their excitement to the big screen in the summer of 2011. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics just announced a video game will be simultaneously released to coincide with the anticipated film.

According to its press release, Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters “will be available for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation® 3 computer entertainment system, Wii™ and Nintendo DS™.”

The multi-player game will feature over a dozen constructs and ultimately be a battle for the Green Lantern to restore intergalactic order and use his highly coveted power ring to oppose those trying to stop him.

The game is the first to center around the Green Lantern franchise.
