Michelle Wie Finally Pops Her Cherry

Whoever said good things don’t happen when you bring a seven iron, video camera, and underage Asian girl to Guadalajara, Mexico clearly didn’t know what they were talking about.

Sunday afternoon, in front of at least 17 excited fans, former teen phenom Michelle Wie won her first LPGA tour event – making her the most exciting champion in a sport nobody cares about since Michael Phelps at the Summer Olympics.

Shooting 13-under-par, the barely legal prodigy began sobbing like (well… a little girl) as she hoisted the trophy over her head while Papa Wie began high-fiving his accountants and making awkward cash register noises in the crowd.

The win makes Wie one of the youngest champion of all time, and will finally allow her to pursue her true passion of failing to qualify for the PGA.
