Bethenny Frankel, the star of the Real Housewives of New York City, gets real about helping the animals by getting really nude. Yes, really! See her naked billboard and behind-the-scenes video after the jump. Now that’s for reals.
The reality television star is the latest celebrity, if you can call her one, to take part in PETA’s print campaign, “Fur? I’d Rather Go Naked” campaign. The 39-year-old, who is expecting her first child, unveiled her attention-grabbing billboard in New York’s Times Square today. Bethenny, who hardly seems shy, became all coy when unveiling her rump to the world, trying to cover her butt crack with her hand. She said, “Since I’m pregnant, my butt will never look this good.” Why then are you trying to cover it up?
Bethenny is a recent convert to animal activism. She tells PETA, “I used to wear fur. I went to a cocktail party, walked outside on Fifth Avenue, and a PETA protester was holding up a skinned animal. I looked at it, and it made me sick. I felt disgusting. That day was a huge change, and since then I've really been against fur. I'm cleaning out my closets--trim, everything. I don't see any reason for cruelty." So does that means she has cleaned out her closets or she’s going to, at some point in the future, like when the publicity dies down and she remembers she actually likes fur?
Watch Bethenny take her kit off in this behind-the-scenes video, but be warned as it contains disturbing images of animals being tortured and may turn you off that Prime Rib sandwich you've been dreaming about.
