Doom Resurrection for the iPhone Looks Awesome

While most games for Apple's iPhone have been nothing more than brief novelty distractions, iD's new Doom game, developed specifically for the smartphone, might just be a game-changer.

The new Doom title seems to be coming out of a Doom3-style universe, and iD's head honcho, John Carmack, has hinted that internet multiplayer action is definite possibility once iPhone OS 3.0 rolls out. Day one purchase? You betcha. Expect to see it in the iTunes App Store next week.
