By Proposing to his Girlfriend, Tony Romo Added to the list of People with More Rings than Tony Romo
Last night, Dallas Cowboys injury reserve specialist Tony Romo got down on one knee and asked somebody who wasn’t Jessica Simpson to marry him. Sadly, his romantic gesture was fumbled, recovered, and returned 82 yards for a touchdown. Terrell Owens later called the proposal “lazy” and “not a big game performer” in the post-engagement press conference.
The woman who accepted the proposal - Dallas television reporter Candice Crawford - told friends that it was a magical evening shared with friends, family, and a collection of waiters who were instructed by management to avoid talking about the 2007 NFL Wild Card fiasco.
In case you wanted to know a little about the woman Tony Romo will be watching the next 15 Super Bowls (from the comfort of his own home) with, here’s some fun facts about Miss Crawford:
• She is the sister of a Gossip Girl cast member Chase Crawford. (He’s the effeminate-looking one who looks like he’d have a sister engaged to Tony Romo.)
• She is over the age of 18.
• She was named Miss Missouri in 2008, but lost in the Miss America pageant several months later. Much like Romo, she can win the division, but often struggles in the later rounds of the postseason.
• She has her own Wikipedia page.
Congrats, Tony! Maybe Jerry Jones will let you hold the engagement party at Cowboys Stadium. There’s nothing going on there in January (like a home playoff game) leading up to the Super Bowl.
