Katie Couric Busts Out the Dance Moves | SPIKE

When you think of Katie Couric, you think of the consummate professional. Always prepared, always courteous, and not afraid to give an interview that might ruin a political career. But what you might not have known is that she likes to get funky on the dance floor.

After being named the new anchor of the CBS Evening News in 2006, Couric had good reason to party down. And party down she did. This photographic evidence is proof that even the most serious of journalists isn't afraid to make a damn fool of herself.

What, pray tell, does she call this move? The Squat-and-Drop-it-Like-it's-Hot-News move? Well, whatever was going through her head (and body), we're just glad someone had the presence of mind to take a picture of it. And post it on the Internet. Oh, and here are a couple more:

Is the child who's witnessing this scene amused, afraid, or in doubt of Couric's journalistic integrity? Perhaps a combination of all three.

Here's to great journalism, the people who bring it to us, and to their being able to make us feel better about our skills as dancers. Don't ever say Couric doesn't cut a rug when it's called for.
