Ferrari Unveils the 458 Italia: F430 Successor Packs 562HP, Show-Stopping Looks

Here it is, the new Ferrari that's been in the works for what seemed like forever: the Ferrari 458 Italia. Get the low down after the jump.

Step aside F430, there's a new hotness in town.  The 458 Italia sports a mid-engined 4.5-liter, direct injection V8 with 562 HP, 398 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 RPM with 80% torque coming in at 3,250 RPM, good for 50+ more horsepower over the standard F430.

Ferrari states the 458 is "a completely new car from every point of view: engine, design, aerodynamics, handling, instrumentation, and ergonomics."

The 458 goes from a stand still to 60 MPH in less than 3.4 seconds, and is capable of hitting speeds of over 200 MPH.

No details on how much of a dent it'll put on your wallet yet, but it's fair to expect it'll run a notch above the F430's $200,000 price tag. The rest, as they say, speaks for itself.
