Flaming Lips' Track Named Official Oklahoma Song

The Flaming Lips track '”Do You Realize??” has been named the official rock song of the state of Oklahoma! Sweetness.

The state legislature of Oklahoma made the announcement yesterday following a selection process that involved Oklahomans voting for their favorite state diddy. Oklahoma residents nominated 454 songs, which were narrowed down to 10 finalists.

Among the finalists were Elvis Presley's "Heartbreak Hotel" and "Home Sweet Oklahoma" by Leon Russell. More than 21,000 Oklahomans participated in the voting process.

"Walk, Don't Run" - The Ventures

"Let's Have a Party" - Wanda Jackson

"After Midnight," - Oklahoman J.J. Cale

"Never Been to Spain" - Oklahoman Hoyt Axton and made famous by Three Dog Night

"Home Sweet Oklahoma" - Leon Russell

"Move Along," - All-American Rejects

"Endless Oklahoma Sky" - John Moreland and the Black Gold Band

"Oklahoma" - The Call
