Salvation Boulevard Gets a Cast

February 11, 2010

Pierce Brosnan, Jim Gaffigan, and Ed Harris joined the cast of Salvation Boulevard, a movie that takes aim at mega-churches and their rabid followers. The movie is based on Larry Beinhart's novel of the same name.

Slash Film tells us the bare bones of the story:

The film “is set in the world of mega-churches in which a former Deadhead-turned-born again-Christian finds himself on the run from fundamentalist members of his mega-church who will do anything to protect their larger-than-life pastor.”

George Ratliff is going to directed, and the script is written by both Ratliff and Douglas Stone. Ratliff is the guy who made Joshua.

This sounds like it could be pretty funny, assuming it doesn't go over-the-top. Between Gaffigan and Harris it seems like there's a lot of potential for this to be a great comedy.

So who's going to play the pastor? Gaffigan seems like a natural fit, but maybe it'll be Brosnan. The possibilities are pretty endless with this cast.
