Emmy Award-winning actor, Neil Patrick Harris – star of "How I Met Your Mother" – will handle hosting duties for this year's Spike TV Video Game Awards – airing live from the Los Angeles Convention Center, this Saturday at 8PM ET / 5PM PT.
Harris – who has become the go-to emcee after hosting the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards and the 63rd Tony Awards – will add the eighth annual celebration of gaming's best and brightest, to his long resume; that includes "Doogie Howser, M.D," the "Harold & Kumar" series, "Starship Troopers," and the web-series, "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog."
Also, scheduled to appear at the Video Game Awards are the cast members of "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia;" comedian Dane Cook; "Star Trek" icon turned Norse god, Chris Hemsworth (star of "Thor: God of Thunder" video-game); skateboarding legend Tony Hawk; "Hellboy" and "Pans Labyrinth" director, Guillermo Del Toro; and a performance by My Chemical Romance.
The Video Game Awards will feature 13 world premieres of games scheduled for release in 2011 – including "Batman: Arkham City," "Resistance 3," and "Thor: God of Thunder."
