Drop-top Bugatti Veyron #1 = Economy of Nauru

by bradiger   August 19, 2008 at 3:33PM  |  Views: 194

The day after the new targa-topped Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport debuted at Pebble Beach, chassis #1 was sold off at the Gooding and Company auction for the princely sum of $2.9 million. The cost may sound steep, but when your run-of-the-mill Veyron hard top comes in at about $2 million, an extra 900k for a custom-made convertible doesn’t sound that outrageous. Hit the jump to see what you get for that much cash.
