Kim Kardashian Denies Affair

June 9, 2011

Just weeks after getting engaged to NFL player Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian has been embroiled in an alleged affair that could rock the foundations of her empire and jeopardize her relationship with Humphries.

The current issue of tabloid magazine In Touch claims Kim Kardashian conducted an affair with another NFL player while dating now fiancé Kris Humphries. Bret Lockett of the New England Patriots claims to have had a five-month affair with Kim in a story titled “Stop the Wedding! Kim Caught Cheating.”

Lockett claims he has “concrete proof” of a “long-distance” relationship with the reality television star. He alleges to have in his possession “kinky” text messages, intimate photos sent by text, and phone records to back up his claims. Lockett has evaded questions about whether the two have ever actually met.

Kim has denied the affair. She took to her blog saying, “I knew when I got engaged that rumors and false stories were going to start, but this is RIDICULOUS!!!! In Touch Magazine is claiming that I had a five-month secret relationship with this guy… a guy I’ve never met, spoken to, texted, called or even heard of! This guy should be ashamed of himself. Calling up a magazine and making up an entirely fake story just to get attention!?!?! It’s just shameful and this guy should feel ashamed and humiliated.” Kardashian finished her blog by saying “don’t believe everything you read” and that tabloid magazines “will do ANYTHING to sell copies.” Kim is one fierce girl.

Meanwhile Lockett has fired back, maintaining his claims. He says, “At the end of the day, Kim knows what happened and I know what happened. Kim can deny this all she wants, but if she wants to go the legal route and start recalling text messages and conversations and pictures and all of that, then that's not a problem.”This has caused Kim to take legal action against Lockett and the magazine. Kim’s attorney Michael Kump has fired off a letter demanding Lockett “immediately cease and desist from making, giving, publishing, disseminating, and/or distributing any and all further statements, remarks or comments regarding Ms. Kardashian and any purported relationship between Mr. Lockett and Ms. Kardashian.” Klump wants Lockett to admit he made up the claims as “an attempt to garner publicity” and “apologize.”
