Los Angeles Dodgers Employ Talented Wizard, Still Lack Starting Pitching

June 10, 2010

Looking for a six-figure job that simply requires watching baseball games and sending positive vibes through the television set? Provided you have mystical powers, the Los Angeles Dodgers may have an employment opportunity.

Up until 2008, the team paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to a 71-year-old Russian man (living in Boston) whose sole responsibility was to send good vibes from “great distances” during Dodgers games.

Sure, Los Angeles never won (or appeared in) a World Series during his tenure, but the team did lead the National League in both karma and saves in the early 2000s.

The position of “team mystic” is currently open and available for telecommuters. Visit the Dodgers’ web site to apply, or simply send positive vibes to team ownership. They’ll find you.
