Gran Turismo to Get Damage Modeling "Soon"

Polyphony Digital, whose extended development schedules were only rivaled by the now defunct 3DRealms studios, have announced for the third time that GT5 will in fact feature the fruits of car smashing. But when?

In an interview with an official Audi promo piece on the Audi R8 from earlier in the year, Polyphony’s Kaz Yamauchi stated that GT fans can not only expect to see in-race weather changes in the future, but "we will soon be able to simulate damage to the cars" as well.

This feels like déjà vu for some reason.

In any case, it’s safe assume this is going to be destined for the “proper” Gran Turismo 5 release, which is scheduled for... Someday.
