Well, we’ve made it through the NFL lockout essentially unscathed and find ourselves drawn to preseason football a lot more than we probably should. If you’re looking for one last thing to send your pigskin hype hurtling through the cosmos, Madden NFL 12 is here to satiate. With no new modes to speak of, the big selling point this year is upgraded graphics. And we’re not talking about the small things you’ll never notice, either. The visuals have been completely revamped with brand new camera angles borrowed from NFL Films, so the pomp and circumstance surrounding each matchup is far more grand. Player detail is also bumped up with scarring helmets, dirty uniforms, and player faces that actually look like the real dude. Between the lines things are just as solid as ever, and EA Sports has included a ton of small changes to the game’s biggest modes that hardcore fans will appreciate. With the NFL season just a little over a week away, we can’t think of a better way to pass the time between your fantasy football drafts. Don’t believe us? Check out the full review from our friends over at GameTrailers.

Tha Carter IV is the ninth studio LP by the one and only Lil Wayne. Originally set to be released back in May, the follow-up to the insanely successful Tha Carter III is finally here for audio consumption by all. Even though Weezy has gone mostly the hip-pop punk route since dropping 2008's best-selling album, with dope bangers like "6 Foot 7 Foot," Tha Carter IV looks to be a return to the hard rap roots that got Wayne to the top of the mountain in the first place. If the mind-bending lyrics of Lil Wayne aren’t enough, guest appearances on the album include Cory Gunz, Drake, T-Pain, Tech N9ne, Andre 3000, Rick Ross, John Legend, Jadakiss, Bun B, Nas, Shyne and Busta Rhymes. Do this.
