Christina Aguilera Talks Divorce and Telephone Love
Two months after filing for divorce Christina Aguilera has finally divulged what caused her five-and-half-year marriage to dissolve.
Christina Aguilera says her decision to divorce Jordan Bratman was far from easy, but had to be done for the sake of her two-and-half-year-old son. Aguilera tells People magazine, “Things were so unhealthy and unhappy for both Jordan and me, I knew I had to end it. I really didn't want to hurt Jordan, and I felt torn about splitting our family up.” The singer goes on to say that the couple’s unhappiness was affecting their son. She says, “When you're unhappy in your marriage, your children are the ones who suffer. That's the last thing I wanted for my son.”
Christina has already moved on and found love in the arms of Burlesque production assistant Matthew Rutler and apparently he’s a real talker. The 29-year-old singer told People, Rutler is “the kind of person you could spend hours with on the phone talking to and all of a sudden it's daylight.”
