Pitchfork Names the 20 Greatest Albums of The '00s

October 5, 2009

The all-knowing lords over at Pitchfork have officially announced their 20 Greatest Albums of The '00s and the list isn’t all that surprising. Indie darlings like Animal Collective, Arcade Fire, and Panda Bear all made the cut. With that said, it shouldn’t be hard for you guys to guess who made the top spot. Here's the list:

20. Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights
19. Spoon - Kill The Moonlight
18. Kanye West - Late Registration
17. LCD Soundsystem - Sound Of Silver
16. Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
15. The Knife - Silent Shout
14. Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavillion
13. OutKast - Stankonia
12. The White Stripes - White Blood Cells
11. Ghostface Killah - Supreme Clientele
10. The Avalanches - Since I Left You
9. Panda Bear - Person Pitch
8. Sigur Rós - Ágætis Byrjun
7. The Strokes - Is This It
6. Modest Mouse - The Moon & Antarctica
5. Jay-Z - The Blueprint
4. Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
3. Daft Punk - Discovery
2. Arcade Fire - Funeral
1. Radiohead - Kid A

My one major addition to this list would have to be The Mars Volta's De-Loused in the Comatorium. It is easily one of the greatest rock records produced in the last 10 years and doesn't seem to get the true respect it deserves. That is all.
