Record Sales Fail: Heidi Montag¿s LP Dies a Slow Death | SPIKE

As if things couldn’t get any worse for the plastic surgery-addicted Hills star, Heidi Montag’s album has debuted with some of the worst numbers the music industry has ever seen.

According to Nielsen Soundscan, Montag’s Superficial LP sold just 658 copies in its first week of release. She also apparently bankrupted herself producing the album. She told EW last week, “…I put every dollar I have into this. I’ve spent over $1 million, almost $2 million, on this album. It’s cost as much or more than a Britney Spears album because I wanted it to be that quality … (But) I think within the first week we will definitely make our money back. The songs will make an impact in pop history.”

This goes to show that money can buy you really big fake boobs and a face made of plastic, but it can’t buy talent.
