Ex-NASCAR Driver Must Have Had Some Unfinished Business in Jail

June 1, 2010

Former NASCAR driver James Neal was released from jail after a two-week stint for leading the California Highway Patrol on a scenic 145 mile-per-hour highway chase. Five hours after re-entering society he was arrested for attempted rape. (Brooks Hatlen warned us of this.)

The 56-year-old former driving star is being held by authorities after an episode at a neighbor’s house that earned the retired racer suspicion of rape and false imprisonment charges.

His bail is set at $1 million and he has been strongly discouraged from breaking any more laws.

1:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m. this morning was clearly a bad time to re-adjust to life on the outside. (It’s almost like these people have never seen The Shawshank Redemption.)
