Randy Couture’s Partnership With Spike Begins With Fight Master: Bellator MMA

September 28, 2012

Spike TV announced today that mixed martial arts legend Randy Couture has signed on to a multi-year creative partnership that will begin with "Fight Master: Bellator MMA".

"Fight Master: Bellator MMA" will feature four camps and will look at the harsh realities that go along with the dedication to becoming a world class fighter. Couture will coach opposite Greg Jackson, Frank Shamrock, and Joe Warren as 32 welterweight fighters battle for a spot in a Bellator tournament and a cash prize of $100,000. Bellator announcer Jimmy Smith will host.

Fighters will control their own destiny on "Fight Master: Bellator MMA", choosing which camp to train with and which opponent they want to fight.

"The stakes are high and the wrong decision, whether it is picking an opponent you don't match up well against or a coach and fight camp that you don't work well with, can mean all the difference", said Sharon Levy, Executive Vice President, Original Series, Spike TV.

Contestants come from all parts of the country from multiple economic and ethnic backgrounds, all with the same goals – learning from the sport's best trainers, earning a spot in the Bellator MMA tournament, and of course, the cash prize.

Couture will also be a part of "MMA Rescue", where he will use his years of experience running a successful chain of MMA gyms to help get failing gyms up off the mat.

"Fight Master: Bellator MMA", from the makers of "The Amazing Race", premieres this summer on Spike.
