The Runaways, a film profiling the iconic all-girl 70's band, has added Dakota Fanning to play drug-addled lead singer Cherie Currie.
At 15, Fanning is the same age Currie was when she made her debut with the Runaways as the lead singer who belted out hard-edged tunes like "Cherry Bomb." Currie became caught up in drugs and a hard-partying lifestyle.
Kristen Stewart, who has already been tapped to play the sultry Joan Jett, is also set to appear with Fanning in the next installment of the Twilight series.
The film will be written and directed by Floria Sigismondi and production is set to begin in late spring.
I wonder who’s gonna play Lita Ford? It better be someone who can actually play the freakin’ guitar.
