Pete Townshend Proves that Registered Sex Offenders Can Still Rock

January 28, 2010

Child-abuse campaigners in Florida have sent out flyers warning residents about the arrival of sex offender Pete Townshend. Who?

Townshend is set to perform with The Who during the half-time show at the Super Bowl in Miami on Sunday, February 7 and residents are apparently not having any of it. Pete Townshend became a registered sex offender after being arrested in a 2003 sting operation and was placed on a sex offenders list. Florida activists were outraged after learning of his arrest for child pornography and scheduled halftime show appearance.

Last month, campaigners from Protect Our Children asked the U.S. Department of Immigration and Florida's Attorney General to reject Townshend's visa. This bid failed, but organizations gave out postcards to 1,500 homes and several schools near the football stadium.

That picture of Townshend might be the creepiest thing I have ever seen. I always knew that rock music was evil.
