Think twice the next time you take your lady out for coffee; it could be making her breasts smaller. A new study shows that drinking caffeine over an extended period of time causes breasts to shrink.

The study measured the breast size of 300 coffee drinking women and found that the breasts of women who drink more than 3 cups of a coffee a day became smaller. The shrinkage is caused by caffeine, which causes estrogen levels to drop.

The study’s author Helena Jernstroem of Lund University in Sweden, says:

Drinking coffee can have a major effect on breast size. Women with larger breasts will be most affected. Coffee-drinking women do not have to worry that their breasts will shrink to nothing overnight. They will get smaller, but the breasts aren't just going to disappear.

The study also found that coffee has the opposite effect on men, turning pecs into hefty man boobs, which the researchers termed “moobs”.

So do everyone a favor, skip the coffee date. Go for a beer instead.
