Burn Notice Star Uses Worst Excuse for DUI

bygirls   July 20, 2009 at 7:34PM  |  Views:  |  Comment

Jeffrey Donovan, who stars in cable show Burn Notice, was arrested for DUI in Miami Beach over the weekend. The actor, who smelled of alcohol, did his best to try and avoid arrest.

The actor was arrested after narrowly avoiding hitting a parked police car. The 41-year-old actor came to a stop and told police, "Sorry, I didn't see the red light or your stopped car.” Donovan was made to take a field sobriety test, which he failed. He told the arresting officers, “The only mistake I made tonight was drinking Benadryl with three glasses of wine. I really think I'm only borderline and not too drunk.” Ahhh…the old blame-it-on-the-medicine excuse.

Donovan faces up to six months jail if convicted.
