Bionic Eye for Cybernetic Peeping Toms

August 12, 2008

Through the use of ever-evolving nanotechnology, American scientists are developing a bionic contact lens that would enhance human vision in a number of sexy, sexy ways.  Read on for details.

The research, being performed at the University of Washington, is the first display technology which is light and small enough to stick inside a contact lens.

They designed the lens by making use of the eye's natural blind spots - which they filled with the display circuitry.

The lenses haven't been activated.  All that is known is that the un-electrified lens can be worn in an eye safely.  There're a few years to go before displays will be visible, but not so many that you won't see (get it?!) it down the pike.
