Russell Brand Talks Monogamy with Katy Perry

Funnyman Russell Brand used to be a sex addict. Now he’s married to singer Katy Perry and adjusting to monogamy. In an interview with Details magazine the comedian says he has “relinquished decision making” and goes “with the flow.” The comedian now has something to live for and to fight for. He tells the mag, “Because now I have something to protect, and it is very odd indeed. There are a lot of things you have to amend to be in a monogamous relationship. I've had to readdress everything and start buying deck furniture. On the Titanic. Avoiding the constant icebergs. In the end, putting snowshoes on the bottom of it?” Hmm… I don’t think snowshoes would have saved the Titanic. [NY Daily News]

Horny Granny Gets Trigger Happy

A 92-year-old Florida woman has been charged with aggravated assault after being refused a good night kiss. Authorities say Helen Staudinger wanted a kiss from 53-year-old neighbor Dwight Bettner and when he refused, the nonagenarian returned with a pistol. The trigger-happy senior citizen then fired four shots at Bettner’s residence, piercing a window. Bettner says, “If my head would have been over just a little bit further, (a bullet) probably would have hit me in the back of the head.” It seems Staudinger mistook kindness for attraction, with Bettner saying, “I've taken her trash out for her, just neighborly stuff. I guess she just took that as something else.” Staudinger is currently in jail. [Yahoo]

Gwen Stefani Donates $1 Million to Japan

Gwen Stefani has apparently donated $1,000,000 to Save the Children's Japan Earthquake-Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund. "I've been inspired by Japan for many years and have a true love, appreciation, and respect for the Japanese people and their culture," she said in a statement earlier today. "The disaster in Japan is beyond heartbreaking and I want to do anything I can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like this without the love and support of all the fans over all these years." [Us Mag]

Guy Who Wrote Elizabeth Taylor's Obituary Died Six Years Ago

In some of the strangest news to hit the web today, The New York Times' principal writer for Elizabeth Taylor’s obituary actually died almost six years ago. According to reports, Mel Gussow, the main writer of the obituary, passed away back in 2005 at the age of 71 after a serious battle with cancer. Gussow wrote over 4,000 pieces for the New York Times and the Elizabeth Taylor obituary was supposedly ready to go for over half a decade. Talk about a preemptive editorial strike. [AOL]
