Senator John McCain secured the porn vote by a huge margin in the 2008 Presidential Election. A new study, published in the New Scientist, shows that those living in so-called red states tend to purchase more internet porn than those residing in blue states.
The study found that “eight of the top 10 pornography-consuming states gave their electoral votes to John McCain in last year's presidential election — Florida and Hawaii were the exceptions.” Utah came in first as the state consuming the most internet porn and Montana recorded the lowest levels of adult entertainment subscriptions.
The study was conducted by Dr. Benjamin Edelman, an assistant professor at Harvard Business School, who based the findings on two years worth of internet credit card transactions from adult websites.
