UFC Primetime Returns!

Tonight on Spike, a special edition of UFC Primetime will premiere at 11pm/10c and will focus on UFC 121 Lesnar vs. Velasquez, following a new episode of The Ultimate Fighter.

The highly acclaimed series will focus on the clash between UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar (5-1) and #1 contender Cain Velasquez (8-0). UFC 121 takes place October 23 in Anaheim at California's Honda Center and will air live on Pay Per View.

UFC Primetime, Spike's three-part mini series, goes in-depth, following competitors through training, family life, their business commitments, and their thought processes leading up to the biggest fight of their careers.

This time the crew goes to Minnesota to catch up with the ultra-private Lesnar, who doesn't normally let cameras into his private life. Fans will get a chance to learn more about Lesnar, who in his own words is a "more humbled champion" after fighting a life-threatening bout of diverticulitis last year.

Lesnar made his return to the Octagon in July and submitted Shane Carwin after surviving a first round beating at the hands of the contender.

The newest #1 contender Cain Velasquez will bring the UFC Primetime crew into American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, California, to get a glimpse of his training regimen, which many people describe as the most intense of any heavyweight alive today.

"He trains with the intensity of a lightweight," says AKA head trainer Javier Mendez.

Velasquez is recently engaged, having proposed to his fiancee on the beach in Sydney, Australia, following his first round KO of Minotauro Nogueira. The couple have a two-year-old daughter, Coral.

Subsequent episodes will also air on October 13 at 11PM/10c. and October 20 at 9:30 PM/8:30c.
