Martin Truex Jr. Breaks Six-Year, 218 Race Losing Streak at Sonoma

by Kevin Marshall   June 24, 2013 at 12:00AM  |  Views: 1,832

The streak is over.

After six years and 218 races without a win in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Martin Truex, Jr. took the checkered flag in Sonoma on Sunday, beating out fellow luminaries Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards, Kurt Busch and others. The victory marked his 2nd win and 82nd top ten finish in the Sprint Cup series.

It also capped off a weekend of celebrations for Martin, who turned 33 on Saturday. So a belated happy birthday and congratulations to Martin Truex, Jr.

Martin joined us on a recent episode of Playbook 360 as our host Dhani Jones traveled to Charlotte to visit with him and talk about his career, his family's legacy, the new Gen-6 cars, and a lot more. Check it out.
