In yet another classic rant from hip-hop’s biggest mouth, during his set at the Big Chill music festival in the UK over the weekend, the one and only Kanye West gave fans a little too much information about some recent thoughts filling his insane brain. "I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I'm f***ing insane, like I'm Hitler," West said to the crowd after a late start to his live set. "One day the light will shine through and one day people will understand everything I ever did, ever said, was to throw myself on the blade for the sake of someone else." Kanye also rambled on about the his controversial video for "Monster" and his Video of the Year incident at the MTV Europe Music Awards back in 2006. Sounds like this guy just needs a really awesome therapist.

Facebook is Making Teens Narcissist

Facebook is fast turning a generation of teens and young adults into the “Me” generation, according to a new study, and we are all suffering the consequences. New research paints an unflattering portrait of the social networking site labeling it anti-social and claiming teens and young adults who spend incessant amounts of time on it are developing psychological problems. A recent study conducted by Larry Rosen, a professor of psychology at California State University, found that OD’ing on Facebook can lead to the development of narcissism, antisocial behaviors, mania, aggressive tendencies, stomach aches, sleeping problems, anxiety and depression. Yikes! This is practically the kitchen sink of youth-related problems. The study also showed that kids who checked Facebook constantly suffered lower grades in school (duh!). Rosen did find something positive to say about Facebook, believing it promote empathy. Ok, digital empathy.

Smokers who light up first thing in the morning are more at risk of developing cancer than other smokers, according to two new studies. The studies, printed in the journal Cancer, tracked the smoking habits of nearly 7,000 people and found that those who smoked within 30 minutes of waking up were 79 percent more likely to have lung cancer than those who waited to at least an hour to smoke their first cigarette. Similarly, those early smokers had a 59 percent higher risk of head and neck cancers, compared to people who waited an hour to light up. Lead author of both studies Joshua Muscat, of the Penn State College of Medicine, released a statement saying, “These smokers have higher levels of nicotine and possibly other tobacco toxins in their body, and they may be more addicted than smokers who refrain from smoking for a half hour or more. It may be a combination of genetic and personal factors that cause a higher dependence to nicotine.” So do your health a favor, wait to light up until after breakfast.

OutKast’s Big Boi Arrested on Drug Charges

On Sunday, OutKast MC Big Boi, Antwan Patton, was arrested in Miami on drug charges. According to The Associated Press, Big Boi was charged with illegal possession of ecstasy and Viagra. Yes, Viagra. Apparently while getting off of a a cruise ship, a K-9 dog smelling for illegal substances alerted police to Patton and customs agents proceeded to search him and eventually discovered “Ecstasy and Viagra pills and a cigarette roller with marijuana residue.” Patton was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. After the arrest, Big Boi was released on $16,000 bond. Gangsta.
