Avril Lavigne Is Too Sexy?

August 18, 2008

Malaysia's Islamic opposition party has urged the government to cancel a concert by Avril Lavigne, saying the Canadian singer's on-stage moves are "too sexy," an official said Monday. Really?

"It is considered too sexy for us. ... It's not good for viewers in Malaysia," said Kamarulzaman Mohamed, a party official. "We don't want our people, our teenagers, influenced by their performance. We want clean artists, artists that are good role models."

Malaysia requires all performers to wear clothes without obscene or drug-related images and be covered from chest to knees. They must also refrain from jumping, shouting, hugging and kissing on stage. I am officially never going to Malaysia.

These people also forced Gwen Stefani to cover up her world-famous belly, drove Beyoncé and Christina Aguilera to neighboring shores to avoid a hassle, and rang up fines against the Pussycat Dolls for flouting decency rules during a 2006 concert.

I would be way more impressed if the Islamists banned these artists because their music sucked. Why must the Muslims always disappoint me?! Although I wish we could get away with this in our country. If so, Britney Spears would be forced to wear full-body armor at all times.

Here's Avril lookin' sorta hot...
