Friends are those people in our lives who are there for the good times and the bad. Usually friendships are formed on the basis of shared interests and common backgrounds, but sometimes strong bonds can form among the most unlikely of people.

10. Eva Longoria and Mario Lopez
Eva and Mario are longtime self-proclaimed BFFs. They have apparently known each other “for years” and while both are attractive, they've somehow managed not to date each other. This is probably because both view each other more as brother and sister than lovers.
Eva sat in the audience with Mario’s mom wearing a “Vote for Mario” t-shirt when he was a contestant on Dancing With the Stars. He was part of her wedding party when she married Tony Parker and she witnessed him change his daughter Mia’s diaper for the first time. He has also been a shoulder for Eva to cry on since her marriage to Parker ended. The good times, the bad times…that’s what friends are for.

A bro-mance for the ages was ignited in 2006 when actor Matthew McConaughey and multiple Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong suddenly found themselves single and lonely. The two teamed up to get over their separate heartaches and a true friendship was born. These men would work out together, eat steak together, party together, and ride bicycles together…often while shirtless.
The two were so close and spent so much time together that gay rumors started being printed in magazines. They addressed the rumors, saying they were just great friends. Of their friendship, McConaughey says, “A lot of people don’t understand friendship and brotherhood. I have a great friend in him. I’d do anything he asked me to, even though he’d probably never ask me to, and he feels the same way.” That’s so sweet I’m going to take my shirt off.

It is unknown how the comedian and actor became friends. One is known for creating a show about nothing and the other has made a career playing strange characters with kinky fetishes. What is known is Spader regularly attended taping of Seinfeld’s self-titled sitcom back in the day. He also guest starred in the episode The Apology where he played a recovering alcoholic named Stanky Hanky. The unlikely duo was last seen in public in 2001 when they were photographed riding in Jerry’s classic Porsche which subsequently broke down.
7. Jon Bon Jovi and Bill Belichick

Mutual respect and admiration is a key ingredient for a great friendship and that’s exactly how rocker Jon Bon Jovi and New England Patriot’s head coach Bill Belichick became buddies. Bill was a fan of Bon Jovi’s band and Bon Jovi was a fan of the New York Giants, one of Belichick's former teams.
The would-be friends first crossed paths in 1991 when Belichick was the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants and Bon Jovi was soaring high on the charts with his hit single "Blaze of Glory." Since then they’ve stayed close, even when Belichick jumped ship and moved to the New England Patriots. Bon Jovi is known to drop in on practice and Belichick has joined Bon Jovi onstage to help the rocker belt out a ballad. In 2002 Bon Jovi dedicated the title track from their album Bounce to Belichick.
6. Kate Winslet and Reese Witherspoon

These two Academy Award-winning actresses found themselves living in the same neighborhood and having children around the same time. This was all it took for the two to become firm friends and, more importantly, drinking buddies. Reese told InStyle magazine how the two met, saying, “Imagine my good fortune when Kate Winslet moved into my neighborhood, rang my door bell and said, 'Dahling Sam [Mendes] is off shooting, and I believe our children are the same age. Could they possibly have a play date and oh, by the way, it's almost 9 o'clock and I've had nothing to drink, do you have any wine?'” Apparently the drinking continues and the two like to go on adventures that are “too bawdy or tawdry or drunken to tell!” Sounds fun.
5. Dax Sheppard and Tom Arnold

Tom Arnold and Dax Shepard share a special sort of man-love. They spend a lot of quality time together going on man-dates to the beach or park. Such outings are usually attended by a third wheel in the form of Shepard’s finance Kristen Bell.
Dax and Tom’s bond is so strong that in 2009, when Arnold walked down the aisle for the fourth time, he asked Sheppard to be his best man. At first Sheppard was slightly insulted, saying, "I was like, 'I'm his fourth best man!' That's like if someone asks you to be the fourth godparent to their kid - like, 'If these three people die, you take care of him.'” He eventually said yes, even though it meant missing out on spending Thanksgiving with his family. Now that’s what you call a mate.
4. Jennifer Aniston and Chelsea Handler

It seems obvious why these two ladies are friends. They’re both single, around the same age, and enjoy vodka. The two became friends after meeting on Handler’s talk show and recently spent Thanksgiving together on vacation in Mexico. They have joked that their friendship involves working out together at the gym, partaking in “vodka-fuelled fiestas,” and hunting for men. Handler says she likes Jennifer because, in her words, “Aniston makes me laugh. She's irreverent and hilarious, and she sends me really, really funny e-mails.”
Just before Christmas Handler showed her loyalty to Team Aniston when she publicly criticized Angelina Jolie, labeling the actress who is now partners with Aniston’s ex, a “home-wrecking b***h.” The public tirade was said to have dampened the friendship between Handler and Aniston, however the Friends star is set to appear on Handler’s talk show to promote her new film Just Go With It.
3. David Beckham and Snoop Dogg

When David Beckham moved to Los Angeles to play for the L.A. Galaxy, little did he know he’d gain a friend in rapper Snoop Dogg. The friendship between the two is definitely strange and Snoop Dogg is the first to admit it. Snoop says, “No one would have thought me and my boy David would have anything in common - we come from separate worlds. But he has the dollars at his disposal and we’re talking about putting our money together to do a movie.” Apart from having wealth in common, Snoop says he and Beckham share a love of family and fashion.
Snoop also turns to Beckham to for musical advice. Just days before the release of his last album, Mr. Dogg asked Mr. Beckham what he thought of his latest album. Beckham listened to every track, noticed Snoop’s two huge bouncers, and replied he loved every single song. Smart move.
What’s next for these two unlikely buddies? The two are talking about starting a fashion label together.
2. Elton John and Eminem

It’s an unlikely friendship, but one that Eminem says saved his life. The two first met in 2001 when they performed together at the Grammy Awards. Their performance of "Stan" was the most talked about act of the night. The newly blossoming friendship quickly soured over Eminem’s commonly misogynistic and homophobic song lyrics.
The rapper reached out to John while battling an addiction to prescription drugs nearly two years ago. In return John, who himself is a recovering addict, offered a helping hand and guided Eminem to recovery. Eminem says, “When I first wanted to get sober, I called [Elton] and spoke to him about it. He's somebody who's in the business and can identify and relate to the lifestyle and how hectic things can be. He understands ... the pressure and any other reasons that you want to come up with for doing drugs.” Elton in return said that Eminem has been “doing brilliantly.” Eminem has been sober since 2009 and still talks with his “friend” Elton.
1. Mel Gibson and Britney Spears

Back in 2008, when Britney Spears was in the middle of a very public meltdown, Mel Gibson offered a helping hand and Spears took it. The two were neighbors in Malibu and she traveled with Gibson and his family to his Costa Rican vacation home. At the time Gibson said, “I feel compassion for someone like Britney…She never gets a moment. She's, like, dogged all the time and followed and she's trying to have a life. Your heart goes out to her because I'm positive that, at her core, she's a good woman.” Soon after her Costa Rican escape, Spears turned things around and got back on the straight and narrow.
Now the tables have turned and it is Spears who’s offering Gibson a helping hand. According to the tabloid magazines, the pop star is Gibson’s “only friend” and “guardian angel.” They talk regularly and Spears is praying for him. According to In Touch, “They speak on the phone all the time, usually late at night. Mel was one of the only people who reached out to help Britney when she was at her lowest point, and she believes that demonstrates what a loving and wonderful man he is.” Maybe with the power of Spears, Gibson too can turn it all around.
