Sony Unveils Rollable LED Display

bybradiger   May 27, 2010 at 4:04PM  |  Views:  |  Comment

Just when you thought your fancy new, overly acronym'd 3D LED HDTV set was cool, Sony goes and makes just about every other display in the world look positively archaic.

Currently offering a resolution of 432 x 240 (similar to that of an iPhone) Sony's flexible display prototype is scheduled to make its public debut at this week's SID Conference in Seattle. The material is said to be tougher than traditional displays and Sony sees the flexible material having a role in the future of portable gadgets. A bendable paper-thin cell phone? I'd rock that. Now we just have to bring the rest of the internal components up to speed and we've got something here. No big deal, right Sony?
