It’s a slow week of video game releases, but there is one game that’s worth checking out. Captain America: Super Soldier is coming out for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii to support the upcoming film, and unlike most movie-based games, this one is actually looking quite solid. Based loosely on the plot of the film, Super Soldier actually strikes its own path through World War II, only briefly touching on certain things from the flick. So if you’re worried about having the movie ruined for you, rest easy. It’s more of a side story. This action adventure has you taking up Cap’s shield as he tries to stop Hitler’s band of super soldiers fronted by the Red Skull. What we really like about this game is that it’s not based on some ultra-future with crazy technology. It’s guns, bullets, tanks, and one man on a mission. July is slow month, so why not rent it or put it in your GameFly queue for some mindless fun?

Starring Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro, Limitless is the story about a writer (Cooper) who takes an experimental drug that allows him to use 100% of his mind. All of his wildest dreams eventually come true, but side effects of the drug soon begin to complicate everything around him. Think of it as a sci-fi version of Wall Street. The new DVD/Blu-ray give viewers an unrated extended cut of the film, Taking it to the Limit: The Making of Limitless featurette, and an alternate ending. This one popped in and out of the theatres kinda quick, but it still did extremely well at the box office and got some pretty solid love from high-quality movie reviewers. Limitless is a slickly-produced feature that captures the imagination of anyone who ever wanted to excel to the absolute best of their ability and literally had the opportunity to instantly do so. Do it.
