New Asus Eee Keyboard Puts All Other Input Devices to Shame

September 14, 2009

We know what you're thinking - it's a freakin' keyboard, how awesome could it possibly be? How awesome does a keyboard with a built-in netbook, touch screen, and wireless HDMI sound? That's what we thought.

Imagine chillin' on your couch with this baby, wirelessly connected to the HDMI port on your TV, wielding a full-featured PC from a vantage point with an extremely high lounging factor, and the genius of the Eee keyboard will quickly come into focus.

With 1.6GHz Atom processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 16 or 32GB solid-state hard disk, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, and a rechargeable battery, this is may be the media controller to end all media controllers. And if you're too busy to update your Facebook status with your reaction to the last True Blood episode, you can just hop on the mobile site, right from the keyboard.

Of course, awesomeness of this caliber doesn't come cheap. Though no concrete details have been announced, several rumors put the price tag in the $400-$500 range with an official release window in October. Time to start saving those nickels and dimes, kids!
