Pill Developed to Cure Period Pain

Finally. Medical science is on the verge of creating a pill that cures menstrual pain. Up to 90 percent of women suffer from severe cramps caused by period pain every month. The majority of women rely on painkillers to relieve the discomfort, but no medication on the market fully alleviates all symptoms. The medicine being developed would target the root cause of menstrual pain, a condition known as dysmenorrhoea. Andrzej Batt, who leads the development team at Vantia Ltd, said, “We hope that the drug will provide a more effective treatment option for millions of women worldwide with this painful condition.” This is a great day for women everywhere. The couple apparently broke up in early March, mostly due to their work keeping them apart. Sounds like our prayers have been answered. [Perez Hilton]

Jennifer Hudson has been named the latest celebrity spokesperson for weight loss company Weight Watchers. Nor has she used the excuse of gaining “baby weight” or made light of her once larger size. Instead the 28-year-old is focusing on being healthier. In a commercial spot released today Hudson talks about being "empowered" and says, "I want my family and my friends to learn good habits." In her own words, Hudson says she’s a “winner” and we’d have to agree. [Jezebel]
