Poke MMA into NY with Facebook

April 24, 2009

It's official. MMA has made it. We're on Facebook (again). Assemblyman Rob Walker (R-NY) has set up a group for New Yorkers (or anyone who loves MMA) to prove how badly NY needs some MMA. I don't think I need to tell you this is big. Walker is one of the people who will actually be arguing in Albany to get our sport sanctioned in the Empire State. Let's show our support because I'm tired of flying to Las Vegas, or Columbus, or wherever to get my UFC. I can jump on the subway and be at Madison Square Garden before the pool of piss on the E train dries. If your love of MMA isn't enough to take two seconds out of your day to join this group, then do it for my love of fresh pee.

Seriously, join the group and show what kind of support MMA fans in the great State of New York can lend to budget problems. And remember, the idea is to educate a generation of non-believers, so if you can keep your comments intelligent and level-headed, leave a message. (i.e. "MMA is the greatest f***ing sport on the planet and I'll break your face if you disagree" is not going to help).

If you're not completely spent, sign up for the petition set up by B2 at CP.
