Bellator MMA's Summer Series 2013 is kicking off with a loaded card, featuring a lightweight title fight between undefeated champion Michael Chandler and tournament winner Dave Jansen Wednesday, June 19 on Spike. The card was officially announced
Chandler returns for the first time since his first title defense, a dominating second-round submission victory against Rick Hawn in January. His 11-0 record includes wins over Eddie Alvarez, Akihiro Gono and Patricky Pitbull.
Jansen brings a six-fight winning streak into the title fight, which includes a successful tournament run that saw him shut down Ricardo Tirloni and Marcin Held. The Oregon native plans to embrace his grappling routes en route to gold.
The four-man light heavyweight tournament also begins, as King Mo takes on Seth Petruzelli and Renato "Babalu" Sobral battles Jacob Noe. The winner of the tournament earns a world title shot against recently crowned 205-pound kingpin Attila Vegh.
"Seth has been in this game for a long time and has beaten guys like Kimbo, Ricco Rodriguez and Dan Severn so this fight is going to be tough, but I've been working my ass off in the gym with Jeff Mayweather and my team and I'm ready to get another win under my belt," Mo said. "Point blank, I'm looking to deliver a straight Mortal Kombat style fatality to Seth."
Rounding out the televised card is the Bellator debut of War Machine, who is set to face fellow welterweight Blas Avena.
