Matt Walsh Starring in New Comedy Series

February 10, 2009

Spike TV today announced that it has greenlit a new comedy series called Players, created by and staring Matt Walsh, the successful Daily Show alumni and founder of The Upright Citizens Brigade. This 10-part series will follow two brothers with opposite personalities on their misadventurous mission to run a sports bar.

Walsh's character "Bruce," the younger, fun-loving free spirit who enjoys spending his bar money on sports betting and loose women, frequently clashes with the older, more responsible brother Ken, played by Ian Roberts.

The plot provides substance with an impressive supporting cast that includes Danielle Schneider, who plays a promiscuous waitress with and affinity for dating B-list athletes, and James Pumphery playing Calvin, the young bartender who idolizes Bruce.

The new series premiers this summer on Spike TV. Click here for the full press release.
