Poor People No Longer Allowed to Watch LeBron James Play Basketball

August 17, 2010

The average ticket price for the Miami Heat’s season opener has raised many questions from fans around the league. Chief amongst them, “Does that come with some sort of car or small Caribbean island?”

According to Sports By Brooks, if a young man in the Miami area wanted to surprise his girlfriend with mediocre tickets to the Heat’s first home game he would have to fork over $1,610. ($805 is the listed “average ticket price” for the game.)

If this gentleman – possibly of Royal descent – wanted to secure lower bowl or courtside seats, though, he would need to spend upwards of $3,200 for the pair (and an extra $16 for his driver to park the car).

Sure, this may seem like a lot of money. But since LeBron James earns over $175,000/game, shouldn't fans have to pay at least three percent of that to watch him play and/or bask in his awesomeness?
