The PlayStation 3 Goes Portable

April 7, 2010

The PlayStation 3 Slim certainly contains less heft than the original PS3, but we never anticipated this: a mountable LCD screen that allows you to take your PS3, and in turn, your Blu-ray player, on the road.

The information provided doesn't specify exactly how one would power the screen and console, as that might severely restrain the amount of portability one would have with this setup.

Regardless, the 1366x768 resolution LCD screen from Hori does 720p and comes with built-in speakers and a headphone jack, so if you're stuck in the back of the car for a long drive, or locked in the basement at Grandma's house, this might be just the thing for you.

It goes on sale May 27th in Japan for the equivalent of $275. No word yet on when we'll be seeing it stateside.
