After the first trailer for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen aired during the Super Bowl on Sunday, Transformers fans everywhere have been wailing, "Dinobots! Dinobots!" However, Michael Bay, the director of the film, has a dour rejoinder to their pleas: No Dinobots.
In an interview with IESB.net, Bay has nothing but good things to say about the film -- not surprisingly -- but he dismisses the idea of Dinobots. That said, he doesn't dismiss them very vehemently, and it leaves one wondering whether or not he's avoiding the issue altogether so as not to be caught on the record saying anything of substance on the topic.
Which leaves the question: If there are no Dinobots in the upcoming Transformers sequel, then just what in hell is it that we see in the first few seconds of the trailer, when a very animalistic robot bursts forth from a patch of ice and snarls as it lunges out of frame? If not a Dinobot, then what?
Riddle us that, Michael Bay. (We'll await his response in the comments section.)
