President Barack Obama visited his ancestral home of Moneygall, Ireland today and got into the spirit of things by toasting a pint of Guinness. Moneygall, a tiny town of 300, is the former home of Obama’s great-great-great grandfather. Obama told the adoring crowd who had flocked to Moneygall, “My name is Obama, of the Moneygall Obamas. I've come home to find the apostrophe that we lost somewhere along the way.” The president then led a toast at the Ollie Hayes pub and paid for his beer, saying, “I just want you to know that the President pays his bar tab ... that's how we do things.” Obama then downed the thick, dark ale in four gulps much to the delight of locals. Obama heads to London tonight as part of a five nation tour of Europe. [AOL]

“Windows 8” Coming in 2012

Confirming rumors that have been bouncing around the tech world for some time, Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer has finally addressed the topic of the next Windows operating system while speaking at the company’s developer forum currently taking place in Japan. Though a specific launch date has not been announced, the updated operating system promises to launch with an entirely new line of products including “slates, tables, PCs, [and] a variety of different form factors.” More news is expected from Windows head Steven Sinofsky in the coming week. Russell Brand Deported

Russell Brand has been deported from Japan. The 35-year-old funnyman flew to Japan to visit wife Katy Perry, who is performing in the tsunami-ravaged country. Perry broke the deportation news on Twitter, tweeting, “So...my husband just got deported from Japan. I am so. sad. I brought him all this way to show him my favorite place. Perry also stated the reason Brand was denied access to country, tweeting, “It was for priors from over 10 years ago! ...But of COURSE I [love] my Japanese fans & the show #MUSTGOON no matter the daily aftershocks or husband kidnappings!” Brand took a more lighthearted approach to his forced removal, tweeting, “"Planning escape from Japanese custody. It's bloody hard to dig a tunnel with a chopstick.” Brand also posted an image of his drab holding cell. Perry will return to the United States after her final show in Japan on Thursday. [Reuters]
