Spencer Pratt to Write Tell-All Book About Heidi Montag

The impending divorce between reality television stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag just turned nasty. Spencer Pratt has announced he is penning a tell-all book about his relationship with Heidi. Pratt released a statement to Us magazine saying, “My last book, How to be Famous, didn't make the New York Times best-seller list because it was in the self-help section. This one is going to be totally different. I'm not holding anything back.” Heidi is none too pleased and may take legal action against her ex. She told TMZ, “This is exactly why I left him. Right now I'm looking into my legal options.” The couple, who were married for about a year, filed for divorce in July and it’s expected to be finalized early next year. [US Magazine]

Jennifer Aniston Offends

Jennifer Aniston is in hot water for using the word “retard” in a negative context on national television. The actress appeared on Live with Kelly and Regis this morning and was asked about dressing up as Barbara Streisand for the recent issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine. Aniston told Regis, “Yes, I play dress up! I do it for a living, like a retard!” Her use of the word offended some, like the organizers of the Special Olympics. They released a statement saying, “The pervasive use of the R-word, even in an off-the-cuff self-deprecating manner, dehumanizes people with intellectual disabilities and perpetuates painful stereotypes that are a great source of suffering and negative stigma.” Peter Bern, the CEO of The Arc, a nonprofit advocate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, called the statement “extraordinarily offensive and inappropriate.” Aniston has yet to comment on the kerfuffle, but expect a pandering, publicist-scripted apology soon. ESPN Loves It Some Irony

A recent story on criticized LeBron James and Brett Favre for spending their entire summer seeking attention and holding the sports world hostage with their antics. The story might have received more attention, but the network was pretty focused on replaying the LeBron Decision special and finding any analyst they can drum up to talk about Brett Favre. [ESPN]

Rhianna May Not Be Baseball Friendly

Ever since Matt Kemp – of Los Angeles Dodgers fame – started dating R&B sensation Rihanna, his career has taken somewhat of a downturn. You know, if you considering watching your batting average, home run totals, and slugging percentage get shot to hell a “downturn.” Kemp, however, doesn’t see a connection. "My girl has nothing to do with what I do on the baseball field. If anything she helps. She makes me happy, and as stressed as I am coming home sometimes, it's nice to have someone there who just wants to support you." I wonder if she’ll still support him from the AAA sidelines.
