Comic Con To Feature Life-Size Lego Marvel Iron Man

by Spike Staff   July 18, 2013 at 12:00AM  |  Views: 4,339

This year's San Diego Comic Con will feature a very special first-time visitor: a life-size Lego Iron Man. This replica of the comic book and movie hero is based on the Mark 42 armor featured in "Iron Man 3," and would make even Tony Stark proud.

Eric Varszegi, master designer and builder, spent over 250 hours working to build the 6'5" version of Mr. Stark's suit. In cooperation with Marvel, he was able to design a life-like suit based on the 3D wireframe that was used in the movie, and this allowed him to create the pose that he desired.

The head of the suit is facing slightly to the left, making is seem as if Iron Man would start moving around or fly away at any point. There are incandescent LED lights in his reactor, eyes, and hand blasters, which only serve to add to the authenticity.

Despite knowing exactly how many pieces are in the suit, Eric is keeping that bit of information to himself. Stay tuned to Spike for non-stop coverage of Comic Con 2013.
