Cheech and Chong: The Cartoon

bynathanbloch   December 16, 2008 at 3:48PM  |  Views:  |  Comment

Cheech and Chong have long been the founding fathers of the stoner movie, and for this we wiill always be indebted to them. They've been off the scene for awhile -- like, over twenty years -- but now they're back. As a cartoon! Yes, you heard me right: Cheech and Chong went and got re-animated. As a cartoon.

Nobody's denying the cultural contributions Cheech and Chong have made to cinema and stoners everywhere. However, it's unlikely that pot heads from the '70s or '80s are in the market for animated fare of any kind that isn't Pixar and that they can't bring their toddlers to.

Who's going to bring their toddlers to a Cheech and Chong cartoon?

I mean, it would make more sense to market a porno to the Amish than it does a drug-addled comedy to preteens. Am I missing something? Are they going to take the bong away from Chong? And if so, then what's the point in the first place?

Does anyone have any answers to my queries?
